Membership of The Pen & Sword Club is by invitation. There are no annual fees. The club is a not-for-profit organisation and relies on the good will of volunteers, donations and sponsorships. All its events are self-funded.
Qualification for Membership:
- Service as a Regular or Reservist officer in the UK Armed Forces in information operations or staff related appointments where there has been an interface with the media and the public.
- Service as a Government Information Specialist with the UK Ministry of Defence or related Government departments and support organisations.
- Defence related civilian experience in politics, industry, acadaemia, corporate communications, journalism or broadcasting appointments
- Service with NATO and Allied information operations staff
- individuals deemed to have supported and made valuable contributions to public awareness of the Armed Forces and Service Charities.
